Never Too Old Again – Part 3 (really?)

Never to old again! Yeah, really. The Badenia bit did not work out. Partly because the company itself was closed for insufficient funds, but more because we could not develop a project that any of the various clients would accept. I won’t go into details. Suffice it to say that I put together about 35 proposals of different kinds and styles but did not present any of them. My “partner” did the presentations and I was not present, and received no feedback from the partner. Consequently, I have no idea why the proposals did not work, but they did not. I have some ideas, but I will keep them to myself.

In a few cases, there were extenuating circumstances, such as the client management lied about their capabilities and could not produce any reasonable results. But these were the exception, and most of them just died without me even being informed that they died, just no news from the other end of the partnership.

Anyway, I am now involved with a young (at least compared to me, and that includes about 85% of the population!) chemist, and we are trying to develop a deep recycling concept to recover valuable materials from various large-volume waste streams. Since this is a physical product concept (no software development and sales), there are real difficulties in finding startup capital. This makes for some concern that the project will never get off the ground. There is no company registered at this point, and the website (my invention, more or less) is still under wraps. Here’s hoping!
